西南当代艺术的文化、观念与实验
西南当代艺术在中国当代艺术史发展中有着举足轻重的意义，尤其是以四川美术学院为代表的“四川画派”更是艺术史无法绕开的历史存在。无论从上世纪 80 年代初的“伤痕美术”“乡土绘画”“生命流”，还是 90 年代的“新乡土”、“新伤痕”，以及 2000 年后对实验艺术的探索，西南地区的艺术家不仅体现出中国现代化变革中文化现代性的先锋性，还凝聚了艺术家对生活的热爱和对人文主义关怀的呼唤。不同时代的文化记忆和地域经验在西南当代中得到了直接的展现。随着中国当代艺术的发展，当代艺术的观念表达、媒介转换、呈现方式逐渐多元化。所以，梳理艺术家创作中的问题意识、方法意识以及艺术家所处的艺术生态尤为重要。
西南地区艺术家的创作，不仅体现出了当代艺术的实验性和文化先锋性，同样也不失对人文情怀的关注。这种混合经验使得艺术家的创作带有一种体温式的价值思考。无论对艺术家个案的研究还是对艺术家群落的生态调查，仅从艺术家的作品、文本入手是非常片面、碎片化的，尽管从艺术家的作品中或许能些许捕捉到一个时代的基本信息，但我们更应该关注到艺术家作品创作时所处的文化语境与时代背景，以及他们所在地的地域性文化意义上的历史演变和文脉线索，在时间与空间、纵向与横向交织形成的多维空间中去寻找艺术家的坐标。
本次展览从“凝视与反观”“逻辑与转喻”“交融与寻迹”三个单元，试图从历史文脉语境的宏观角度和艺术家个体创作脉络的微观角度，洞察文化在地性如何在我们身上得以显性呈现，同时又捕捉到艺术家共同经验之下的差异性。无论是从当代艺术发展的历时性维度，还是从当下艺术生态的共时性层面，西南当代艺术从当代艺术发展的伊始就有一种属于自身的地方文化属性，这不仅与地域文化的积淀有关系，同样还与西南艺术家的肉身经验、野生状态和自我生长的生命力有着直接的关系。

Culture, Concept and Experiment in Southwest Contemporary Art
Southwest contemporary art has a pivotal significance in the development of Chinese contemporary art history, especially the "Sichuan Painting School" represented by the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, which is a historical existence that art history cannot avoid. Regardless of the "scar art", "local painting", and "life stream" of the early 1980s, or the "new countryside" and "new scars" of the 1990s, as well as the exploration of experimental art after 2000, artists in the southwest region not only reflect the avant-garde nature of cultural modernity in China's modernization transformation, but also embody the artists' love for life and the call for humanistic care. The cultural memories and regional experiences of different eras have been directly displayed in the contemporary Southwest. With the development of Chinese contemporary art, the concept expression, media transformation, and presentation methods of contemporary art have gradually diversified. Therefore, it is particularly important to comb the problem consciousness, method consciousness, and artistic ecology of artists in their creations.
The creation of artists in the southwest region not only embodies the experimental and cultural avant-garde nature of contemporary art, but also pays close attention to human feelings. This mixed experience brings a kind of warm value thinking to the artist's creations. Regardless of the case study of artists or the ecological investigation of artist communities, it is very one-sided and fragmented to only start with the works and texts of artists. Although some basic information of an era may be captured from the works of artists, we should pay more attention to the cultural context and era background in which the artists' works were created, as well as the historical evolution and contextual clues in the regional cultural significance of their location, Search for the artist's coordinates in a multidimensional space formed by interweaving time and space, vertical and horizontal.
This exhibition consists of three units: "gaze and reflection", "logic and metonymy", and "melting and tracing". It attempts to gain insight into how culture is manifestly presented in us through the macro perspective of historical context and the micro perspective of individual artists' creative context, while also capturing the differences under the common experience of artists. Whether from the diachronic dimension of the development of contemporary art or the synchronic level of contemporary art ecology, southwest contemporary art has its own local cultural attribute from the beginning of the development of contemporary art. This is not only related to the accumulation of regional culture, but also directly related to the physical experience, wild state, and self growing vitality of southwest artists.
